Don’t judge me too hard on this arrangement; it’s made from a random collection of things I scavenged from around the house! Some parts are dried, some plastic, some live, some foam… (Can you tell which is which?) Sometimes you have to get creative ;).
I put this together because I got some chicken wire at the store and wanted to try it out as a mechanism. I didn’t have any blooms to droop down and cover the wire, so I tried to conceal it with the wooden bowl, but since this whole thing was a chicken wire experiment, I guess it’s okay that it’s visible :). I’ll have to keep that in mind, though, with real arrangements.
I didn’t really have any say in the color scheme because I used what I had, but I do like the warm golden, maroon, rusty shades complement each other. I do think ideally I would have gone with all dried foliage or all green. I like the wild grasses for height and interest, but I think the colors worked better without it. Thoughts? I’ve been watching a lot of flower arranging videos on YouTube and I’m trying to be more aware of the elements that make a good arrangement. They make it look so easy!

I love the not-quite-open strawflowers (like the one in the above photo on the right) much more than the ones that have their full center visible, but unfortunately so does my kitty; she has been pulling them out of arrangements and launching them around the house all winter. Since most of my supply is depleted, I had to I had to compromise and use the open centers!

Happy flower arranging!
