Ah, spring! What a glorious time to be alive!

We had a little gathering the weekend, so I grabbed some yard flowers and made an arrangement. I think the binge watching of YouTube videos helped!

The photos aren’t ideal—I didn’t have time to find a good background or improve the lighting…plus my focus is off on the full length shots—but I call this centerpiece a definite improvement over last year’s haphazard arrangements!

Time was tight, so I rushed putting this together and I didn’t have time to hydrate the blooms before arranging (gasp!), but I WAS mindful of choosing flowers that serve different purposes in the arrangements, I made sure I had greenery, and I tried a spiral arranging technique. The spiral needs some practice, but at least I’ve tried the general idea now, and I love how it makes the stems look so cute and orderly!

Now I’ve got to come up with a backdrop for photographing larger arrangements…
